If you are a pet lover you know just how much man's best friend loves the great outdoors. The great news is St. Louis Park has a few great options when it comes to off leash dog parks. These parks allow your dogs to roam around free and have a great time.

Two of the main off leash dog parks in St. Louis are Dakota Park on Dakota Ave., and Cedar Knoll Park on Nevada Ave. If you have a small dog that is somewhat timid, Dakota Park has a special area for dogs of that nature.

Using St. Louis Dog Parks

In order to use any dog park in St. Louis residents are required to have a dog license. Please note your dog license must be current. Without one you will not be able to get access to the parks. Non-residents will need to purchase a permit for $55. Your permit will be valid from January through December of the year you purchased it.

You can print off a dog park permit form at http://www.stlouispark.org/webfiles/file/inspections/2015/2015_off-leash_dog_park_permit_application(1).pdf.

You can also pick one up at the Inspections Department at city hall.

Dog Park Hours

To avoid disturbing neighbors you are only allowed to access the dog parks between the hours of 7am and 8:30pm. Please know your dog must always be on a leash when not at one of the off leash dog parks. Your leash can be as long as 20 feet. When people, or other animals are around, it must be shortened to 6 feet.

Pampered Pooch Playground

Pampered Pooch Playground is another place where you can take your dog. Here your dog will be able to run around under the supervision of a professional dog daycare staff. They also have a dog hotel where your dog can stay when you are away from home. To learn more about Pampered Pooch Playground visit www.PamperedPoochPlayground.com.
