There is some good news in December’s housing market statistics. St. Louis Park homeowners should be especially happy because the median sales price of a home in St. Louis Park increased almost 11 percent over December 2013’s price. We now sit at $241,000.
The word has apparently not gotten out to homeowners, however, because the inventory of available homes is down more than 9 percent. Closed sales slowed down as well, with a decline of 15.7 percent.
Now these numbers may also reflect the typical winter slowdown of the real estate market so we’ll need to wait and watch to get an accurate picture.
St. Louis Park homes that do sell right now, however, are selling quicker than they did in December of 2013. The number of days a home remains on the market dropped from 68 to 52.
By the way, don’t forget that the Bundled Up! Winter Fun Day is happening tomorrow, January 31, at Oak Hill Park.
