Back to school time is creeping upon us ― the kids have only about a week and a half left of summer vacation. We’d like to take a minute to salute one St. Louis Park’s amazing schools. If you live in the Minikahda Vista neighborhood you’re already familiar with Susan Lindgren Elementary. If you’re new to the neighborhood, read on to learn more about this school.

Susan Lindgren serves about 530 students in grades K through 5 with 30 full-time teachers. This gives the school about a 17:1 student/teacher ratio. While that’s not the best ratio in the district, it is the third lowest of all elementary schools.

Is St. Louis Park’s real estate market still hot? Yes, indeed it is. Prices are up, inventory is down and it is heaven for home sellers.

A couple of words of caution, however: If you plan on selling this year, do it now. We looked at Edina’s market earlier this week and it’s cooled off to the point where it’s now a balanced market. Sellers are no longer in the driver’s seat. Could this happen in St. Louis Park? Sure it can and, indeed, it will, at some point. Trying to time the market isn’t wise, so if you plan on selling, do so a.s.a.p. Get out, while the gettin’s good!

Dining

McCoy's Public House provides an excellent choice for a night out in the St. Louis Park area. They provide amazing family dining with brick oven pizzas, gourmet burgers and plenty of classic American comfort food.
