Aquila Real Estate & Homes

Some neighborhoods provide privacy while others are populated with folks who love to get to know their neighbors and participate in neighborhood events. If the latter sounds like you, take a tour of the Aquila neighborhood in St. Louis Park.

One of St. Louis Park’s largest neighborhoods (more than 310 acres), Aquila is home to a neighbor’s group that was established in 1998. They enjoy holding various events throughout the year, such as a neighborhood garage sale, picnics in the summer and neighborhood beautification projects. To help keep everyone apprised of upcoming events, the group hosts a Facebook page and publishes a neighborhood newsletter.

Amenities

The Aquila neighborhood offers three parks to its residents. The largest of these is Aquila Park, with lighted athletic fields, basketball courts, four tennis courts, horseshoes, trails and a playground. Residents love picnicking here in the summer.

South of Aquila Park is Sunset Park, a neighborhood park. A little further south and you’ll be at Elie Park, with a baseball/softball field and plenty of open space.

The neighborhood is also home to one public school, Aquila Primary School. It serves nearly 500 students in grades K through 5. Parents laud the school’s outstanding teachers.

One of the parts of living in Aquila that residents like best is that they don’t have to travel far to shop. The Knollwood Shopping Center is located at the neighborhood’s southern border and offers Cub Foods as well as your favorite national clothing chains. Dine at Panera Bread or Applebee’s after a long day of shopping.

Part of the 4.3 mile Cedar Lake Extension Trail, the Hutchinson Spur regional bike trail runs alongside the neighborhood.
